TechCrunch reported on 15 October that Bee, owned by Amazon, introduced two products. The Bee Frontier costs $74.99, can be worn on the wrist or pinned to clothes, comes in Onyx, Lavender, and Sage, and is available now on Amazon. The Bee Eclipse costs $99.99, is about the size of a credit card, attaches magnetically to the back of a phone, and comes in Silver, Midnight, Honey, and Blush. The report says the Eclipse will be available soon after the Frontier. It gives no date.

Every Bee device can create conversation summaries and recaps for free, with 14 days of memory. Bee Pro costs $11.99 per month and includes unlimited conversation summaries plus connections to Amazon.com, Alexa+, and third-party apps. Paid users also get suggested to-dos, daily memories, a personal chat assistant, and conversation templates.
[1]Bee says the device does not store the raw audio of a conversation: the audio is processed in real time and then deleted. Transcripts are encrypted with keys the device creates and controls. Unless the user deliberately shares them, other people, including Amazon employees, cannot read those files. That is the company’s account as relayed in this report, not an independent audit. Linking Alexa voice recognition is optional. Users can delete transcripts and summaries.
[1]The Frontier has IP67 protection, battery life of up to seven days, USB-C charging, and two microphones. Both devices have a single button that turns them off and on, and an indicator light while a conversation is being summarized. The phone app has been redesigned, and there is also a new desktop app. The headline’s $75 is a round figure. The body price is $74.99, and that is the figure used here.
