What customer service confirmed is the compare tool

IT Home carried a Sina Technology report on the afternoon of October 12. The report says Vipshop customer service confirmed to Sina that the platform has added and revised this AI product-comparison tool.

There are two paths. One is to select items in the shopping cart, tap “compare,” and compare the selected products. The other is to tap the “compare” button, enter “AI Xiaowei,” and then choose the different products to compare.

What customer service named is this compare tool, and that the second path enters “AI Xiaowei.”

The compare entry on the product page is gone

Sina also saw Vipshop iterating “AI product comparison” and similar features in a limited rollout. The product form has already been adjusted once. Previously, when a user searched a category such as sneakers, the product page popped up an AI-generated comparison module, pulling out a product’s advantages and listing core specifications. That inline entry on the product page has been taken down.

So customer service confirmed that the tool is still there, and that it has been changed. That is not a claim that the automatic popup on the product page is still there.

What the assistant can do is still an unnamed-source account

In the same piece, people familiar with the matter told Sina exclusively that Vipshop recently launched a self-built AI assistant, “AI Xiaowei,” developed by Vipshop’s large-model team. It supports text and voice conversation and can help find products, check promotions, and ask about discounts.

Sina asked Vipshop for comment on the above and had received no reply by publication. Text, voice, and help finding discounts remain what the unnamed sources said. The company has not confirmed those abilities of the assistant.

A salary on a job post is not a product specification

Sina searched recruiting sites and found Vipshop hiring for large-model roles, including a head of post-training, a head of LLM data compilation, and a head of SFT text data. The report gives a monthly range of 50K to 80K, corresponding to 600,000 to 960,000 a year.

The report uses “it is understood” for what those jobs do: break down the abilities “AI Xiaowei” needs, covering shopping-intent recognition, product understanding, recommendation generation, and multi-turn dialogue, then define data, build datasets, and diagnose weak spots. That sentence is not presented as the text of the job post, and the company has not confirmed it.
