The real-time APIs for parsing, extraction, and classification are generally available
The Databricks post says the real-time REST APIs for document parsing, extraction, and classification are now generally available. The decisions API is still in beta. They say it is suited to document routing. The page date is October 14.

Each of the four calls does one job, and a confidence score is not an accuracy rate
ai_parse_document reads the file, turns tables and figures into structured text, and calculates citation bounding boxes. ai_extract pulls the fields you specify into a structured result, and can attach citations and confidence scores so a person or an agent can check the source. ai_classify assigns labels to the document or to extracted entities using a business taxonomy, and can attach rationales and confidence scores. ai_decide uses the document's content to choose what happens next, such as routing it into a workflow or flagging it for review. A confidence score is a field the API can return. The post publishes no extraction score and no classification accuracy.
[1]The prefilled contract is their example
The example they give: a lawyer uploads an agreement; ai_parse_document turns the file into structured content the app can save; ai_classify decides whether it is an NDA, an MSA, or a statement of work, so the app opens the matching form; ai_extract pulls out the parties, effective date, renewal terms, and notice period, and citations let the lawyer check the source; after the lawyer corrects or approves the fields, the app writes the reviewed record and the source reference to Delta. That is a workflow in the product description, not a customer result.
[1]Millions a day is the volume they say customers receive
The post says their enterprise customers receive millions of documents every day. Contracts, invoices, and insurance claims illustrate the older step, in which a person had to read the file and pull out fields before approval could move. The millions figure comes with no customer list and no measurement window. The APIs can be called from an application or an agent when a file arrives, including a custom agent on Databricks Apps or Agent Bricks. The post does not state a price.
