The stamp on this IT Home page is 2026/10/24 8:08:21. It retells an Axios report from the day before: Meta Platforms has acquired the AI data-analysis platform Sundial. Sundial was founded by two former Meta employees. Chief executive Julie Zhuo was vice president of product design at Meta. Chandra Narayanan was head of data analysis at Instagram and at Sequoia Capital. A purchase price is not printed on this page. With no price printed, the deal cannot be written up as a published sum.

The product claim stays in the page's words. Sundial lets a company ask questions of complex data in natural language through a chat-bot plugin, and get an analysis it can act on. The page says a business team need not wait on a central data group, and can do the reading itself, so product changes, operating decisions, and monitoring of AI systems move faster. That is a description of a capability. The page gives no figure for speed, accuracy, or how much human work has already been replaced. The headline says that after the purchase, data analysis becomes as simple as chat. As simple as chat is the headline. The body only says a person can ask in natural language and receive an analysis that can be acted on. It does not measure how simple. A reader tip at the top of the page only says where the lead came from. It does not change that the page is retelling Axios.
[1]The same page also records an organizational change from before the deal. It should not be fused with the transaction. In July this year Meta named former marketing lead Alex Schultz its first chief data officer, and formed a group called Data Analytics Tooling & Agents, shortened to DATA. The duties listed are descriptive analysis, experiment testing, improvement of AI products, and monitoring of critical AI systems. July is background. Sundial is the later item.
[1]The split of work after the acquisition is on this page too. Schultz says that once Sundial is inside, Narayanan will be responsible for data-analysis tools and for agents. His words on LinkedIn are that AI has brought an almost unlimited demand for insight, and that they want to define the future of AI analysis. Wanting to define it is his sentence. It is not a finished product list. Other Meta model links at the bottom of the page are not folded in.
