The IT Home page is stamped 2026/10/19 11:30:25 and gives no time zone. It starts from a recent claim that more than half of domestic compute is being spent on short drama. It then cites a COL investor-relations note: 55% of domestic AI token use is short drama and video generation, 24% is e-commerce ads, and only 15% is research. The same paragraph says token use for short drama and video generation is already more than twice software development, and is the largest token scene. The unit is tokens, and the scope is written as domestic. The note itself has no date.

Liu Xing, Doubao’s public-relations lead, posted today that this compute figure is unreliable. His figure is a different sentence: for ByteDance, only about 10% of the company’s total compute is used for training and inference of video-generation models. The denominator is ByteDance’s total compute. The numerator is video-generation training and inference. It is not domestic token use, and it is not a share for short drama alone. Where the other roughly 90% goes is not in this piece.

The two sentences cannot be subtracted. 55%, 24%, and 15% add to 94%. The note does not explain the remainder, and it gives no period. Liu is answering the move that treats that consumption as compute. He does not define ByteDance’s total compute, and he does not date the 10%. This page also does not attach the COL note or Liu’s original post. What can be checked is that one outlet put two figures on one page and marked them as coming from different people and different measures.
