It is either lazy or completely intellectually dishonest to pretend that I said “AI would make no progress” under any circumstances when what I actually said in “deep learning is hitting a wall” (2022) is that we would eventually need to complement deep learning with symbolic mechanisms. And that is *exactly* what the ultimately field did, with loops, code interpreters, harnesses and tools. People misrepresent what I said daily, but my paper was fully correct. The issue is with shitpoasters’ inattention to detail, not my predictions.
