For clarity, I am arguing for a temporary pause on the mass deployment of a specific AI technology - general purpose AI agents with internet access - because they have repeatedly proven to be unreliable and capable of causing harm (precisely as I anticipated they would be).
I am not arguing for pause on all AI in any form.
