The stamp on this IT Home page is 2026/10/23 16:00:20. It says Volcengine, under ByteDance, released Seedance 2.5 4K that day. The page says that after specialized training, this version learned facial expressions, small movements, and image detail more fully, and that it is the strongest model in the Seedance 2.5 generation. Strongest is this page's wording. How that training was done is not written here.

The split in how it is used is specific. Seedance 2.5 4K has a draft mode. A user can check shots and revise them at 480p, then generate the 4K picture after the result is satisfactory. The page says 480p is the cheaper way to try ideas, and 4K is the final picture. It is currently a trial for some enterprise customers only, and the opening may widen later. May widen is not already public. The page also says some film-production and post-production companies in China and abroad have already tried it. Someone has tried it, and the limit to some enterprises, are two sentences on the same page. The page names no companies and gives no count. 480p for cheaper exploration and 4K for the final picture are a split in the pitch. They are not a price list or a resolution test table.

The spec and the test stay inside the company's account. The page says texture, outline, and detail are fuller and the picture is clearer, and that 10-bit color adds color range and smoother gradients. 10-bit is a spec. In dialogue tests by film customers, the 4K version shows small reactions more fully, so a viewer can more easily read emotion beyond the line. That is a description of a customer test. It is not a score table. For reference generation and video editing, the page says it keeps the quality, sharpness, and color of uploaded material better, and that small type on posters and packaging is clearer. Keeps better is the pitch. It is not a comparison table.

This trial is not the first appearance of Seedance 2.5. The same page says 2.5 was first released at the FORCE conference on June 23, the API opened to leading enterprise customers on July 13, ordinary developers on July 16, the Jimeng web and app on July 31, and the commercial API on August 7. Those dates belong to the earlier 2.5. What this page adds is the 4K version, and it is still a trial for some enterprises. A different item at the bottom of the page, about a count of studios, is not folded in.
