Google’s Gemini 4 Carbon has taken the 1st place on the Artificial Analysis Intelligence Index with 59, 1 point above Claude Opus 5.5 (58) and 2 above GPT-6 Astra (57).
Artificial Analysis found Carbon wins 4 of the 9 evaluations (HLE-Diamond, Terminal-Bench-Science, AA-Omniscience, AutomationBench-AA) but doesn’t lead in coding or knowledge work.
At standard pricing it costs $7.76 per index task, about 23% less than Opus 5.5 ($10.04) but more than GPT-6 Astra ($6.25).
