I'm trying really, really hard not to be cynical and to think these people mean well and want the best for everyone. But my mind can't square that with the reality of how much money they are making (and stand to make) by working on this supposedly killer technology. This isn't some sort of alien attack brought upon us. This crisis is of our own creation, fueled by these same people who keep telling us the end is near.
