Today before I leave São Paulo, I met my host mom who hosted me 15 years ago when I did an exchange program for 6 months my final year in university.
This is my first time returning to São Paulo since then.
She is an incredible person.
She teased me because I met my husband in Brasil 15 years ago (he is American ironically and was doing a rotation at Google Brasil at the time).
She said she knew I was serious about him because I kept on coming up with reasons it wouldn’t work.
She said someone only says that when they are scared of caring too much. It was very true, and I’m forever very grateful she encouraged me to be irrational.
