Unpopular opinion: getting students to be superior in math was always mostly a p*ssing contest, and with the rise of automated mathematics it is now completely irrelevant. Should we try to teach kids math at a reasonably high level? Sure. Should we force feed it to them to the point where it makes no sense? Absolutely not.
